Cross-country closing was a California breeze thanks to Nick . . . via Facetime and met with my sibling who lived locally, all on a day’s notice. I’ve closed a handful of deals in NJ/NY, so I was apprehensive about my first ‘non-present closing,’ given I was still on the east coast, and CA generally doesn’t use lawyers as we do back east to help me digest the legalese. Nick helped me comprehend the language and differences among my state and CA’s, . . and made the entire process so simple, that everything was done early on a 14-day closing period! Every question was answered within the hour, and he took into consideration the 3-hour coastal difference when communicating. In the rare instance that he was uncertain of something, he would link me directly with Title or HOA, who were also of great help thanks to Nicks’ warm prefaces. I never felt out of the loop and was cc’ed on all emails so I knew exactly which documents were still outstanding from whom.
